ACNE

Known for some of the best fitting jeans amongst the fashion know-it-alls, Swedish Fashion House and Creative Collective Acne has its flagship store on Greene Street in SoHo. The store is a mix of clothes and design featuring a men’s and women’s collection that includes ready-to-wear lines, accessories, and of course, jeans. The new store has fashioned a modern mix of studio furnishings and classic Swedish Gustavian interior.

Acne was founded in Stockholm in 1996 and stands for “Ambition to Create Novel Expressions.” The denim offshoot began in 1997 when Acne designed 100 pairs of jeans to distribute among friends, family, and clients of the company. Before long a public request for these raw denim jeans with red stitching appeared and the following year Acne Jeans released its first collection. Today the company consists of Acne Film, Acne Creative, Acne Jr, Acne Digital, and Acne Paper—all working together across creative borders from their headquarters in Stockholm and Paris.
