A true New York institution, Grand Central Oyster Bar, located on the lower level of Grand Central Terminal, has been serving seafood to locals and visitors alike since 1913. It is the oldest restaurant in Grand Central with a reputation that holds up to this day. The seafood is as fresh as you can get by way of long-established relationships with local fishermen. You can also sample flavors from afar thanks to a comprehensive menu that features oysters from New England to New Zealand and beyond. The menu is updated daily, and you’ll find a long list of fish options under “Today’s Catch.” Also worth noting is the clam chowder, which at $8.25 is one of the best deals in town.
