For three-plus decades, Omen has brought traditional Japanese flavors to SoHo. A long-standing local favorite (Omen opened its doors in 1981), the casual and affordable Japanese staple has roots stretching back to its very first location in Kyoto, Japan, where the chef perfected his take on country-style cooking with dishes that continue to shine through the use of “heritage ingredients,” traditional techniques, and meticulous attention to detail. Stop in for a weeknight meal and enjoy some healthy (for the most part) dishes like sashimi, pan-roasted organic chicken teriyaki, black codfish, and a pot of sake in a casual, warm and charming setting.
