Pastis
A beloved New York institution, Pastis long-awaited second iteration in the Meatpacking District is steps away from the original, which opened in the early aughts and fast became a modern classic. James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs Keith McNally and Stephen Starr have cultivated an upscale yet humble Parisian-style bistro complete with McNally’s signature trimmings—subway tiles, mosaic floors, brushed aluminum doors, specials written on distressed mirrors, floral arrangements—and an indelibly chic crowd. The menu offers tried-and-true French classics, such as the escargots, salade Niçoise, and multiple versions of steak frites, while also offering new dishes like duck aux olives and boudin blanc with pomme purée, best paired with a glass of wine from the 160-selection wine list sourced entirely from France.
