THE RIVER CAFE
The River Café is a Brooklyn staple that offers diners gorgeous views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York skyline from its position under the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. The Michelin starred riverside establishment brought to you by Michael O’Keefe has become a destination among international travelers and locals alike. The contemporary American menu, created by Executive Chef Brad Steelman, features only the finest and freshest ingredients with dishes like wagyu steak tartare, black sea bass sautéed with lobster brown butter, branzino with crusted shrimp and chorizo, and desserts like chocolate marquise Brooklyn Bridge and a peanut butter soufflé, a delightful touch on a classic dish. Caviar service and an aforementioned chocolate bar are also available.
We live for an old-school New York establishment, especially one that requires men to wear a jacket in the main dining room, and ‘prefers’ a shirt and tie. Men are not allowed to wear backless sandals, which means no flip-flops; ladies, we don’t recommend you wear these either. Fun fact? More men have proposed marriage here than any other place in New York. The views are just that good.
