Boqueria is a local tapas joint offering small plates and tastings of imported ingredients like jamón Serrano and Catalonian goat’s milk cheese. There’s a 12-seat marble bar lining the bottleneck entryway, with more elbow room in back at leather banquettes flanked by high tables made for sharing a variety of dishes. The bacon/date/walnut dish is outstanding enough to order twice. Chefs in the anchoring open kitchen are on view from any spot in the restaurant. There is also a small selection of imported products (olive oils, vinegars, canned peppers, and more) available for purchase. Keep in mind that reservations are only accepted for parties of six or more, so call ahead if you’re dining with a large group.
