We asked Meridith to tell us a bit about herself and here’s what she said: “I’m a New Yorker, a mother to my daughter Eddy Rose, a partner to my tattooer/singer husband, and an East Village vintage store owner. Hobbies during the pandemic include decorating my houses and then redecorating them. Perfecting Angelicas Kitchen Soba Sensation (if you know you know), and being the best boat captain on our upstate lake. I’ll get you up on water skis. Pre-pandemic: flea marketing, antiquing, and buying for my shop!”

WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE?
I don’t know if that does it for me.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN NYC?
Shop the 26th St Garage Flea Market. I pretend it still exists.

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE PERSON TO SHOW YOU “THEIR NEW YORK CITY,” WHO WOULD IT BE?
Early ’80s Madonna.

WHAT OR WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU RECENTLY AND WHY?
Kamala Harris. No explanation necessary.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE NYC RESTAURANTS? WHAT DO YOU ORDER THERE?

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO SPOT IN NYC FOR DRINKS?
The Immigrant (best COVID Pina Coladas), and it’s across the street from my shop!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR UNDER-THE-RADAR MUST-DO RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NYC VISITORS?
Walk around my neighborhood in West Harlem and go to Riverbank Park. It’s beautiful.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE NYC STORES AND WHY?

WHAT MUSIC ARE YOU LISTENING TO THESE DAYS? WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MUSICIANS?
Thom Yorke.

WHEN YOU THINK OF NYC, ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR EMOTIONS OR MEMORIES THAT IMMEDIATELY COME TO MIND?
That feeling of being young and dancing at shows at all the smaller venues like Roseland, Irving, etc. with my good friend Maria.
